Flagstaff, Arizona — April 2, 2025 —The Native American Food Sovereignty Alliance (NAFSA), a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring Indigenous food systems, announced today the release of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for its 2025 Indigenous Food Sovereignty Event Sponsorships.

With support from the NoVo Foundation, Abrons Foundation, and the CS Fund, NAFSA will award up to five sponsorships ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 to support Native-led events that advance food sovereignty across Tribal communities. The RFP seeks proposals from Tribes, Native nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and community groups with a demonstrated commitment to Indigenous food systems, cultural preservation, and intergenerational knowledge transfer.

Important Dates:

  • RFP Release Date: April 3, 2025
  • Proposal Submittal Due Date: May 9, 2025 by 11:59 PM MST
  • Contractor Selection: June 5, 2025 by 5:00 PM MST
  • Project Commencement: December 31, 2025

Proposals must be submitted in PDF format by email to Trena Bizardi, Senior Program Officer, at trena@nativefoodalliance.org. Late submissions will not be considered. Preference will be given to projects that demonstrate clear community impact, strong partnerships, and alignment with NAFSA’s mission to promote Tribal self-determination and wellness through food sovereignty.

Sponsorship recipients will be required to submit a post-event report, high-quality photographs, participant testimonies, and complete a follow-up interview with NAFSA.
