The Native American Food Sovereignty Alliance (NAFSA), a leading 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to revitalizing Indigenous food systems and supporting tribal self-determination and community wellness, is pleased to announce the solicitation of proposals for a Financial Operations Contractor.

RFP Title: Financial Operations Contractor

Hours: Not to exceed 40 hours per month
Hourly Rate: Up to $100.00 per hour

Scope of Work:
The selected Financial Operations Contractor will work closely with NAFSA’s leadership and our accounting partners, Blue Arrow LLC, to enhance our financial infrastructure. This individual will be tasked with developing robust financial systems and processes, providing strategic financial input, implementing best practices in nonprofit financial management, and ensuring alignment between our financial strategies and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial systems and processes in collaboration with our financial team.
  • Provide strategic financial leadership on issues impacting the organization.
  • Manage risk assessments, grant compliance, and collaborative budgeting processes.
  • Facilitate effective communication and data flow between in-house teams and external consultants.
  • Support financial reporting needs and organize meetings with NAFSA staff and Board Members as necessary.
